The Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) is looking for a dynamic and driven Communication Lead to shape and elevate our voice in the global water community. Who you are
We are looking for a creative and proactive communicator who can work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. You have a strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach and are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic international environment.
Your role
As SIWI’s Communication Lead, you will be the communication lead of the organization, driving all aspects of internal and external communications, marketing, and outreach. Your work will be instrumental in strengthening SIWI’s brand, engaging stakeholders, and amplifying our mission to advance water governance and sustainability on both a strategic and operational level. You will be a member of the Senior Management Team.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic communication, marketing, and outreach plans.
- Provide expert communication support to the Executive Director and colleagues, including crafting key messages and writing essential content.
- Plan, produce, and publish engaging content across SIWI’s channels, including the website and social media.
- Manage and develop SIWI’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
- Oversee and maintain SIWI’s websites, keeping content relevant and up to date.
- Set and track communication goals to measure impact and effectiveness.
- Handle the communications budget and forecasting, manage external consultants, procurements, and other administrative tasks.
- As a member of the Senior Management Team, act for the best interest of SIWI and
provide a strategic view
You bring:
- Proven experience in strategic communication, content creation, and digital marketing.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Strong experience in social media management, website development, and brand strategy.
- Confidence in advising leadership and providing communication counsel.
- Budget management and experience working with external agencies and consultants.
- A passion for sustainability and a strong interest in global water challenges.
- Proven record of leading and developing a team with full responsibility of work environment in case of future needs
- Experience as a member of a management team
Requirements
- Relevant University education within Communication, Public Relations, journalism or related fields and/or equivalent experience
- Fluency in Swedish and English (both written and spoken)
Additional information
The position is based in Stockholm, Sweden and will be appointed with a start date in mid-August. Salary range from 55.000 - 60.000 SEK.
